What can you do in Malta in the evening? We were asked this question by a client of the law firm Dr Werner & Partners after a consultation at our office in St Julians. And we believe that this question is relevant for many visitors to Malta, so today we would like to present three alternatives for the evening programme in Malta.
Bars in St. Julians
The mere fact that there are language students in Malta all year round, and most of them in St. Julians, means that there is always something going on there. There are many bars along the coast and especially in Spinola Bay. In addition to the classic bars (in a wide variety of price ranges), there are a few pubs that fit into the colonial-era image. If you don’t find enough going on at the coast, you only have to go a little further to Paceville. What you should know about Paceville: There are a lot of discos here and the average age is correspondingly low. Especially recommended: the Hugo bars. There are several of them in St. Julians, in my opinion the best is Hugo’s Terrace: http://www.hugosloungemalta.com/
Cinema
Of course, there are also cinemas in Malta. Eden Cinemas, which is also located in St. Julians, right by St. George Bay. The selection of films is sufficiently large (more than 15 films in 17 theatres) and the films are shown in the original version in English. In terms of price, tickets are absolutely affordable and cost between €5.50 and €9 (3D film incl. glasses).
Quiet evening in Malta
Those looking for a more peaceful evening can go out for a delicious meal. Despite the fact that Maltese food is not well-known, there is a good selection of restaurants. We named three restaurants that I recommend in my previous post.
Conclusion
Whatever your mood is, Malta has plenty of options for a pleasant evening. Aside from the activities listed above, you can spend your free time bowling, go-karting (probably more during the day), or visiting one of the popular large casinos. Everything is also easily accessible due to Malta’s small size and efficient bus links.
